  1. Thank you for sharing this! What a wonderfully honest and clear glimpse into Nancy Pearl's beautiful mind. I loved hearing about her childhood (or rather, allusions to it) because it just goes to show the power of books to lift us out of our circumstances and show us what is possible. I also love her lack of judgement about the value of books to different readers.

  2. My favorite Nancy "truism" is that there are 50 books everyone should read. . .but it's not the same 50 books for everyone.

    She is a lovely, lovely person. You would enjoy her immensely!
