Jet Setting

If my alarm went off at 4:15 this morning as scheduled, I am now in the air, winging my way to New York for a live webcast for Scholastic's Dear America books. I know I'll be tongue-tied in the presence of my "co-stars" Lois Lowry and Andrea Davis Pinkney. Some of my teacher and librarian friends around the country have emailed me to let me know they'll be tuning in on Wednesday. Knowing there will be friendly ears out there helps me with my butterflies.
Almost packed!

The timing of this event couldn't be more wonderful as it will allow me to take son Tyler to dinner for his birthday while I'm in town! Yay!
