Book Recommendation

After finishing The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society (which I adored -- it ranks up there with And Ladies of the Club for me), I reached for Hannah's Dream by Portland author, Diane Hammond. It was the perfect follow-up -- another heartwarming read about characters I came to care about deeply. I'd met Diane, briefly, at the fall PNBA trade-show and then had the chance to view a vodcast of her talking about her writing process at that great resource, the Author's Minute.

If your favorite New Year's activities focus more on books than on bubbly, read Hannah's Dream as you ring in 2009.

In fact, there's nothing to stop you from reading it while you sip on champagne.

  1. Kirby,
I like the look of your new blog... And, I appreciate your comments on the books you've been reading... I just downloaded Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society to my Kindle. Am anxious to get to it. Now, I'll need to add Hannah's Dream and And Ladies of the Club... Have a very happy 2009. -chc
