Check out Barbara O'Connor's post about what she does before she starts writing. Karen Cushman weighs in that she does the very same thing.
Hmmmm, so that's the answer. All I have to do is find the perfect title, the perfect character name and the perfect first line.
No problem.
At least, not for Barbara and Karen!

The title and first line I can live without, but I am super picky about character names, and they're the first thing I come up with. My WIP started with this sentence, spoken to my best friend: "It'll be about two British evacuees--sisters--their names are...Evelyn and Sara." Four years later, they're still Evelyn and Sara:)
